What if an employee or member of the public wants to access a County building during a strike but the location is blocked by picketers/striking workers?

Ingress and egress to a public building (and access to a work station) is a right and not a matter which needs to be negotiated with picketing employees. Members of the public and non-striking employees should avoid confrontations and should not invite or engage in any exchanges which might inflame the situation. If a member of the public feels s/he is being harassed or prevented from accessing a public building, the individuals should call/contact Chief Communications Officer Michelle Durand at (650) 363-4153. If an employee feels s/he is being harassed or prevented from working by picketers or striking employees, the employee should notify their manager immediately.
